The medical system cannot respond to your needs in a timely manner. They are too specific and complex.  If you want out of the misery of living with chronic pain you will have to take full responsibility.

I have helped many patients become pain free. I don’t have the time either.  My patients have done this on their own. My role is that of a “coach”, supporter, and looking out for medical issues.

The stages represent the sequence that has been successful for many patients. Each stage has five steps.

  • Go through all of the steps without cutting corners.  The nervous system and your body take time to heal.  Although many patients feel better within the first four to six weeks it takes about 18 months to progress through the whole process.
  • Repetition is critical.
  • Your improvement is dependent on your committment and has been consistent.   The Power of Commitment

Keep your family in mind as chronic pain has a devastating effect on those close to you. It is easy to push away the people you need the most for support.  Pain = Anger = Abuse

I have watched patient after patient become pain free.  I had one 50 y/o gentleman who had experienced pain in his upper and lower back for 30 years.  His resolution of symptoms occurred after about six months of full engagement in his self-directed work. There was a psychology intern in the room with me and the two of us just sat there stunned. He was ecstatic.

Pain free is a realistic goal. As they say Down Under, “Give it a go”.
